My Favorite Cleaning Supplies

Most people list Christmas as their favorite holiday, but if you ask me, my favorite is Easter. Easter is my favorite for many reasons but perhaps the largest is that is it takes place in the Spring. Spring brings warmer temperatures which prepares the way for summer. With spring and the warm weather comes spring cleaning. I love spring cleaning! It is a natural desire that inspires us all to make changes in our everyday lives. It's a rebirth. Easter and spring share the same emotions as New Year's Eve. It's a time to check our progress and retry.
This spring marks the last semester of my undergraduate college experience. It is the last time I will be moving out of a college dorm, it is the last moving out cleaning check I have to attend and prepare for, but it isn't the last time I will ever clean. Cleaning is a skill and a behavior I will use for the rest of my life.
Below is a list of 10 of my favorite assorted cleaning supplies, their intended purposes, and what I recently used them for. The products are not listed in alphabetical order.
1. Ajax
I love Ajax, is does an awesome job of cleaning old and hard grease stains. I often use it in cleaning of my stove and oven. What sets it apart from Comet, its largest brand competitor is its blue color. I appreciate the blue color because it makes it easy to see when it has been cleaned completely. The powdered product work really well, but can be a little difficult to work with.
2. Armor All: Air Freshening Protect-ant
When it comes to cleaning and protecting the interior of your car I can not think of a better product. I love the new care smell and the re-hydrating of leather and car furnishing it provides, despite being a non-greasy formula. The difference it makes to wipe down the interior of your car with this product is amazing. Make sure to do all the deep cleaning and wiping down before hand with a generic all purpose cleaner before hand so that the protect-ant is refurnishing clean surfaces rather than dirty. The results will last longer when used on a clean interior.
3. Clorox Wipes
I personally don't have a preference of multipurpose wipes but I almost exclusively buy Clorox over Lysol. Mostly because I find the wipes sturdier, so they last longer. I think the cleaning element is probably no different between one brand and the other.
4. Easy-Off
Is a fume fee oven cleaner. I don't use oven cleaner very often, but when I clean the oven I do not rely on the self clean function, being that its not always reliable. What I like about it is that it doesn't use heat when cleaning. You spray and then let sit for two hours before wiping it down.
5. Fabuloso
Fabuloso is one of my all time favorite all time cleaners. I can not think of a multipurpose liquid cleaner that I love more. It comes in several different scents all fantastic, it is relatively cheap, and works for everything. I use it for mopping, wiping down walls, washing out and off all other surfaces. I most recently used it while deep cleaning my car. Really I use Fabuloso on a regular basis.
6. Febreze
Febreze fabric refresher is great! I love all laundry scents. When I have a bad day I love to spend some time in the laundry aisle, it relaxes me. So finding a fabric refresher that smells of Tide Laundry detergent made me ecstatic. I Spray this around my room, bedding, carpet at least once a week to freshen up the room. It really gives the room a sense of being recently deep cleaned without having been washed floor to ceiling.
7. Kaboom
Kaboom is a brand competitor of scrubbing bubbles. What I love most about Kaboom is the aspect of the added blue color. I really like that it sprays blue and turns white when clean. Makes determining when the chemical reaction is finished. I also really value that has Oxi Clean. One of my other all time favorite cleaning products. If a product has Oxi Clean in it, I will most likely buy it.
8. Lysol with Hydrogen Peroxide - 0% bleach
I am not against bleach, in fact I love just about everything about bleach, but I do know its not the healthiest cleaning product. Hydrogen Peroxide is amazing. Everyone should have a bottle on hand in their household for cleaning, not just medical purposes. Another ingredient that increases my likelihood of purchasing a product. It validates the product in my eyes.
9. Shout: Carpet + Oxy
Another product that uses oxy technology. Shout carpet cleaner is great for small carpet stains. I used it recently to spot clean the floor and floor mats of my car. I really love the spray and set process. You simply soak the stain, let sit for five minutes, blot the stain, let dry and then vacuum. It is excellent and so easy to use.
10. Window Clean: Vinegar Formula
It doesn't have to be Window Clean the big thing here is the Vinegar formula. Vinegar is by far one of the greatest home products for cleaning. If you can find a window cleaner made with vinegar it would be the one I would buy. Not to use as a window cleaner. Windex will always be my go to product their, but a vinegar window cleaner does great as an alternative multipurpose cleaner. If a cleaning product has vinegar in it I usually buy it.
