Drake. Like the Rapper

Introduction

My name is Sarah Drake. I am creative. For as long as I can remember, I have always been engaged in some sort of creative project. Whether it be coloring, drawing, sewing, embroidery, crocheting, painting, any sort of craft, graphic and web design, I have tried just about everything. If I haven't tried it I have read about it, or have a board on Pinterest on how to do it, and I can't wait to try it. That is who I am, who I always have been and probably always will be.

Motivation

My life is also full to the brim. I am a full-time college student and a full-time employee. I volunteer, take on freelance graphic design projects, and am in student leadership. Being so busy, I have found that organization plays a large part in my life. Lucky for me, I love a good plan! I don't feel confident doing anything without a plan in place. I find that when I have a plan, it allows me to create an ideal situation. With that ideal in mind I try to live it. I then reflect on how it went, and make adjustments until I find the plan that suits me best. I have used plans to build healthy habits or break unhealthy habits. Having a plan allows me to take things one step at a time.

Design Process

I create a plan by: determining a problem or issue I want to solve, researching what works for other people, then I add that research on to what I know about myself. That is how I create a sense of organization in my busy life. My favorite part of this creative process is translating my solution into reality.

Purpose

Teaching art and design has always been something I enjoy doing. I am the oldest of four children and also the oldest of 25 grandchildren, and as one of the only creative minds in the family, people reach out to me for a lot of art and design help. I love helping someone translate their thoughts in to real life objects. The spark that I see when I help them create what they wanted or when a project exceeds their expectations is one of my favorite expressions.

Vision

Art and design are two things that bring me joy! I love bringing that same joy into the lives of those around me, through the work that I love so much. The design field grows each an everyday and I can't wait to add my creations to this amazing field. I want to help bring organization and design to everyone's life.
