One of my favorite things in organization is having separate boxes for different things because is it a way of making sure everything has a place ensuring everything can be returned to its place. Lately my life has gotten a little out of hand. Graduating from college this May is overwhelming in and of itself, add in the stress of being a full time student, working a job, and trying to find a job in my career field before graduation and you can understand how busy I am. It is almost February and I haven't taken my Christmas decorations down, and my apartment seems to be in this constant state of chaos. In other words, it is time to bring back some organization. So I decided I was going to make some of these boxes to help organize the different rooms in my apartment.

These boxes are seriously the best they can be made any size and can be used for endless things and the best part, they are relatively cheap to make. All you really need is a cardboard box the size you want, thick twine, a cloth pillow case, and a hot glue gun and glue. I made an array of sizes and used them throughout the house. In the bathroom for toilet paper, in my kitchen to store my Tupperware lids, the living room for the mail, and the bedroom to keep all my rented movies and books from the library. Let me take you through the process.

Instructions:

First you need to select your boxes. Second plug in your glue gun. While your glue gun is warming up you can cut off the flaps on one side of your box, making sure to make your cuts as even as possible. Unwrap a generous amount of twine so you have something to begin working with. Then using the hot glue, begin wrapping the box in twine one row at a time until you have reached the top of the box. Now insert the closed side of the pillow case into the inside of the box, you can glue it in if you would like by putting a thin layer of glue around the corners and creases of the inside of you box but you don't have to, then fold the top of the pillow case over the top of the box. You may have a lot of extra pillow case when you fold over, that's okay, just decide where you want your fabric fold over to end, and then tuck the extra pillow case in so that the extra is between the box and the fabric that shows from the outside. And there you have it, woola, you have a beautiful box you can use to organize your life.
