Nothing is more frustrating than spending the whole day working on things other than cleaning your home to find that one of the members of your household has invited company over, and the window of opportunity to clean is closing quickly. Everything feels like a mad dash as the clock works overtime against you, and you try frantically to accomplish the long list of things that need to be done before people arrive. You could have cleaned earlier but the time has passed and now everything needs to be done in a matter of minutes rather than hours it would take to do a good job. If this is one of your greatest fears then you might find the following weekly cleaning checklist helpful in your home.

Here is a weekly checklist printable that can be printed and then filled out by hand or filled out as an interactive PDF and printed. Each day gets its own set of cleaning tasks that should be completed each day. My favorite thing about this checklist is that is is completely customizable to any family situation, large or small. (Insert pdf link)

Step One:

First things first you need to identify which tasks need to be done on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis for your family. For example, some daily cleaning tasks that need to be done around every home are washing the dishes, cleaning up around the house, and making the bed. Other tasks only need to be done once a week like, vacuuming/sweeping or mopping each floor in the home, washing the bedding, and cleaning out the fridge. I like to view monthly cleaning tasks as things that come up unexpectedly and make you think, I need to clean that sometime in the near future.

Here is an example of some of the tasks that could be found on you cleaning checklist. Kit Arbuckle at https://www.care.com/c/stories/5933/ultimate-household-chore-list/ has a great list. Take a look!

Step Two:

After identifying what needs to be done and at what time interval it needs to be done at. It is time to compare the tasks you have listed to your weekly schedule. If Wednesdays are your busiest days of the week you probably only have time to do one or two tasks that day. If your Fridays are free, what better day to do laundry? The point of this checklist isn't to overwhelm but to help you better plan and organize the cleaning tasks you want to get done every week in a way that works for you and your family. Check out the any do calendar app at https://www.any.do/, this calendar is designed to keep you organized in so many different ways and in available for almost every device, and the best news, its free.

Step Three:

After planning things out the rest is easy, using the template provided fill out the each day with the tasks you want to complete, save the document and hit print! If you would rather you can print a blank template and fill the information in by hand. Either works it is totally up to you. Here is the link to my cleaning checklist PDF link.com. (This isn't an actual link, I still need to figure that out, will update as soon as I have figured it out).

Let Me Know How Things Go:

Finally post your cleaning checklist somewhere you will see often to remind you what needs to be done each day. I hope this cleaning checklist helps you as much as it has helped me in aspiring to have a cleaner more organized home. Let me know how the cleaning checklist works for you, I would love to hear your feedback sweetsarahdee@gmail.com.
